Train
The Duomo of Florence is easily accessible by train and tram. Florence has an elaborate tram network which connects all of its major attractions and have two functional lines. It is best to purchase tickets online, or well in advance, to save time during travel. The cathedral is a 10 minute walk from the nearest tram station — Valfonda.
Car
Reaching Florence by car is convenient as the city is well connected with its neighbouring Italian cities. However, due to several exits on the highway, it can get confusing. While coming from Milan, make sure to keep an eye out for ‘Firenze Nord’, and if you’re coming from Rome, look out for ‘Firenze Sud’. After arrival, you may look out for paid parking spaces around the Duomo for easy facilitation.
Bus
City buses in Florence make it the easiest to travel around the city. You may buy a daily pass, or simply buy tickets from kiosks, train stations or coffee shops in the city to get to the cathedral. Tickets are usually priced 1 Euro 20 cents, and valid for 90 minutes from purchase. You may board the bus to Condotta to reach the cathedral.
