We visited the Uffizi Gallery late in the afternoon so it wasn't very crowded. The exhibits there are exquisite, no doubt it is one of the world's greatest collections. People with reduced mobility should be made aware, they will need to request access by lift to the top floor, as there are several magnificent flights of stairs to get there! But once you do, it's amazing! Not only the artwork, the building itself is stunning, beautifully maintained and the views out over the city are also worth seeing! Fantastic value for money too.

All beautiful, I had already visited it years ago but every time I come it's like the first time. I would never get tired of looking at the masterpieces in the gallery and also the scenery outside. Only advice I can give is upping the wifi reception which works well on the second floor but not on the first, more so because having the audio guide we could not use it on the second floor. Otherwise beautiful experience.

This was our 3rd visit to Uffizi and our best. We went in the earliest time slot so it wasn't too busy. Also we loved the terrace on the 3rd floor and enjoyed cappuccinos with the lovely setting and view. I would not waste $$ on headphones - very limited and not too informative. Instead ask chatGPT to prepare an itinerary for you based on how long you plan to visit. Ciao!

Myself and my friend had a great tour of Academia. It was concentrated on the history of Michelangelo given it was only an hour duration but we enjoyed that and understanding this amazing artist in more detail and centring around the build of David. I recall it was Vera who was our guide in English. She was very good and could be clearly understood. Still left us the opportunity to explore the valley further after the tour.

3/5

It was a bit of a mix up. Someone came late and they did not have a ticket for her so we had to stand in a line and wait 10 minutes for the tour arranges to bring another ticket. Then we did a toilet stop and waited 10 minutes for people to go there. It was frustrating as surely you go to the loo before hand and if your late you miss the tour. This left us stuck in crowds as the guides all talk about the same specific painting so everyone huddles in there areas although the rest of the gallery is quite acceptable. So floor 2 is crowded floor 1 is easy to walk around. The guide had lots of knowledge but I wanted to speak about the paintings but it was about the medchi family and where they lived etc and who was related to who. This was too much and detracted from us even standing in front of a painting. It was expensive so I would have expected a smaller group with less hearding. The overall was good but could have been better.

You cannot go to Florence and not see David! The tour guide arranged our entry quickly, bringing us from the meeting point, a short walk from the Accademia, straight into the entrance. The quick entry was worth the price, this visit isn't cheap though!! There are some wonderful pieces here, so take your time to explore, rather than head straight for David. And when you turn into the gallery to see him, perfectly positioned in great natural light, it does take your breath away. Also, walking all around him to get the full effect, you will admire Michelangelo's attention to detail, something I never fully appreciated from photos previously. Thus can be a short visit, but definitely worth it!!

David was the main attraction we wanted to see. It was very touristy as all of Florence is & very confusing to get in by ourselves. purchasing the guided tour made it very easy as they acquired our tickets for us, led us with a group inside, and made the process simple. We booked the Accademia Gallery Skip-the-Line Guided Tour through Headout and had a great experience. Skipping the extremely long line was worth it alone, but the tour itself exceeded expectations. Our group was small, which made it easy to follow and ask questions. The guide was incredibly informative—we learned so much about the history and artistry of the museum, especially the iconic statue of David, which was absolutely breathtaking in person. The tour lasted about an hour and covered all the key highlights of the Accademia Gallery, with just the right balance of depth and pace. Highly recommend this tour if you want a richer, more meaningful visit without the stress of waiting in line.

The guide was excellent with great information. Entry was easy and quick. The woman contact was not pleasant or helpful. She stated she had called my number twice, I had no missed calls, a issue with internataional connection? She was unpleasant. Guide excellent, meet up woman, meh

The guide was knowledge and it was very interesting! My kids (13, 11, 7) and I all had a great time and learned a lot! Hardly any wait in line to get in, and didn't feel rushed in the exhibit at all. Spent a lot of time at the David and from multiple angles. Loved it! It was my first experience with a guided tour and I so glad we did it! BUT I am disappointed with the back end of things - when booking the tour it said to meet far away from the accademia and instead to meet near the uffitzi - thst didn't make sense to me, so I chatted online with someone and they confirmed the location and that we'd walk with our guide over. The day before the tour I got an email confirming that same location. When we arrived I was told we were at the wrong location and needed to hurry over to the meeting spot by the accademia. We then needed to RUN through the city to get there on time so we wouldn't miss the tour. We arrived sweaty and frazzled. The tour guide was fantastic, but the communication leading up to the tour was not good.

Well organised and so easy to meet up with our guide who the cut the queue and got us into the gallery very quickly. Our guide was very knowledgeable art historian with a passion for the subject that was very engaging. We were shown all the key paintings in 2.5 hours and learned so much . We would have been lost wandering around for hours if we did it ourselves and we would not have seen 1/2 the key works.

Kiara, our guide was simply fantastic! Not only was she very knowledgeable about Florentine art history, the Medici Family, and the gallery, but she also contextualized the art pieces and the artists in the larger context of florentine and Italian history. We did not feel rushed at any point and she was also very patient with our questions. I highly recommend the tour and Kiara as the guide!

The guide was excellent and pationate about the visit. Very nice person and knowledgeable.excellent story teller. But the group was not a small group as I expected . We were 16 ! The waiting time at the uffizi was longer than foreseen the rooms packed. I was expecting a smaller group that would not rush . But in view of the chaos around the uffizi the entire experience was a miracle .

The guided tour was great but working out the ticket verification was very complicated. The confirmation email said the tickets were confirmed & we were ready to go. However the next line in the email said we had to go to the office, which was out if our way across town & when we got there the notice on the doir directed us to the ticket office in the piazza Della republica. Your messaging needs to be more exact about where people need to go - several people on our tour made the same comment!

The museum visit was great. However, we had thought that the QR code was the actual ticket. So we had to go somewhere else from the entrance to the Uffizi to pick up the paper ticket. I actually wanted to avoid this, so I bought the tickets online beforehand. The office was difficult to find despite Google Maps. The Boboli Gardens are very run-down, overgrown and unkempt and not at all worth the entrance fee. A complete disappointment.

LLadies that were guides were excellent, very interesting stories and very competent. Lunch in Calcio n Pepe was dissapointing, food was excellent, but they hardly wanted to serve us when we said that we paid the lunch to the agency and showed voucher. Also the guided tour in Uffizzi covered only the second floor. When we booked, it was not mentioned. We walked through the rest of gallery alone, with no guidance. All in all, I think that I overpayed the tour. Got no discount for children, as well. All in all, I think that I overpayed the tour.

We toured Florence highlights and, later that, day, the UffiziGalleries. The morning tour was disjointed, and the guide practically ran us through the streets. She--Claudia--often got so far ahead that we worried we'd lose her. She was knowledgeable, but her information was not well organized. And she asked "guess what's in my mind" questions. No one likes those. The Uffizi tour was still physically challenging, but the guide was much better. Her knowledge was well organized, and she built the experience as a narrative, making a LOT of information easier to,remember. And unlike the morning guide, she encouraged and responded well to questions.

There was an unexpected change and my tour time was moved up, i was frustrated and the staff gave me a great plan so that i can see as much of the attractions as possible for the few hours i was staying in Florence. Our guide was such a great one. Her English (American accent) was very easy to understand, she was energetic and engaging. She talked for 90 minutes straight and i listened very carefully for 90 minutes straight. I couldn't stop listening. The information i got, mix of religion, history, economy and art was outstanding. Analyzing the art was exactly to my taste. Definitely recommend!

I have fallen in love with the Uffizi Museum. The Accademia is also great but the expanse and variety of Uffizi is just something else!

The venue was beautiful, the guide was knowledgeable - it was crowded but they way the groups stagger with one another naturally didn't make the crowds overwhelming... great price and the instructions for meeting points and directions were clear.

This review is for Martha our guide and the Academia. Wonderful experience. Our experience at the Ufizzi was not good. The guide's English was not good, her voice was hardly heard, her microphone had a lot of interference, we decided to leave the tour before it ended.

Top things to do in Florence

Step into one of the world’s most iconic museums, where art, history, and innovation come together. Founded by the Medici family in 1581, the Uffizi Gallery is home to masterpieces that define the Italian Renaissance, including Botticelli’s Primavera and Michelangelo’s Doni Tondo.

With expertly curated ticket options, you can explore this treasure trove of art at your own pace or with the enriching guidance of an expert.

The Vasari Corridor reopens: walk in the footsteps of the Medici

Add a touch of exclusivity to your Uffizi Gallery visit with access to the legendary Vasari Corridor, reopening after decades.

Reopening on 21 December 2024, the Vasari Corridor is a walkway connecting the Uffizi Gallery to the Pitti Palace. Built in 1565, this 700-meter-long "air tunnel" once allowed the Medici family to traverse the city in privacy and safety.

Enjoy panoramic views of Florence as you walk above the Ponte Vecchio and end your journey in the stunning Boboli Gardens. Fully restored and accessible, this one-way path offers a rare glimpse into Renaissance history.

Book tickets

Ready to plan your visit? Here’s everything you need to know before booking your Uffizi Gallery tickets.

  • Standard entry tickets are timed, meaning visitors must select a specific time slot when purchasing their tickets. It’s essential to arrive on time, as late arrivals may result in denied entry.
  • If you want to enrich your visit, consider an audio guide or a guided tour. Audio guides let you explore at your own pace while revealing the stories behind iconic masterpieces. Guided tours go a step further, offering expert insights and helping you uncover the gallery’s hidden stories, whether through a quick highlights tour or a deeper dive into Renaissance art.
  • For those seeking a more personalized experience, small group tours, limited to nine participants, offer an intimate and interactive way to explore. This format allows plenty of opportunities to ask questions and engage deeply with artworks like Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus or Michelangelo’s Doni Tondo.
  • For a richer immersion into Florence’s cultural heritage, pair your Uffizi Gallery visit with Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens. These sites share a Medici legacy, with the palace’s royal collections complementing the Uffizi’s masterpieces, while the gardens provide a serene retreat that reflects Renaissance grandeur. Together, they offer a seamless journey through Florence’s art and history.
  • The Vasari Corridor tour offers a seamless connection between the Uffizi Gallery and Palazzo Pitti. Your ticket includes timed entry to the Uffizi Gallery for exploring its renowned collection, followed by the Vasari tour two hours later. To join the tour, head to Room D19 on the first floor of the Uffizi at the designated time.
  • Enhance your Renaissance journey with a visit to the Accademia Gallery, home to Michelangelo’s David and other stunning masterpieces. Combo tickets offer skip-the-line access to both galleries, saving time and delivering excellent value for art enthusiasts.
  • Children under 18 can enter for free with a guardian, though a €4 reservation fee applies for advance tickets.
  • Admission is free for everyone on the first Sunday of the month, but expect large crowds that could impact your experience.
