Arrive at the entrance

Enter Palazzo Vecchio through the main doorway in Piazza della Signoria, located between the statues of David and Hercules and Cacus. After validating your ticket and passing security, you can proceed inside.

Explore the ground floor

Walk through grand halls, the palace courtyard, and reception areas where civic functions once took place. You’ll see traces of the original medieval architecture and the fortress-like structure.

Ascend to the second floor

Explore the Medici apartments and ceremonial rooms with frescoes by Giorgio Vasari, ornate stucco, and portraits of Medici rulers. See period furniture, gilded details, and decorations reflecting Medici wealth and power.

Arnolfo Tower

On the second floor, next to the Hall of Lilies, is the entrance to the tower. Access requires a separate ticket. After a brief security check, you’ll climb 233 narrow medieval steps and enjoy panoramic views of Florence.

Wrap-up

Descend or exit at your leisure, with optional stops in small courtyards or museum areas. Most visits take 1.5–2 hours, longer if exploring at a slower pace.
